STANDARD CONDITIONS OF HIRE

For the purposes of these conditions, the term HIRER shall mean an Individual Hirer or where the Hirer is an Organisation, the Authorised Representative.

1. THE HIRER is responsible for doing their own risk assessment to satisfy themselves that the environment is suitable and safe for their activity and to provide for appropriate supervision and accept any special conditions for supervision as required by the management committee.

2. THE HIRER whose hire involves children, young people or vulnerable adults in a regulated activity must have a policy that complies with current legislation, and which includes any necessary arrangements for Disclosure and Barring Service checks. The Han Committee is in no way responsible for the standard of supervision provided by the Hirer.

3. THE HIRER will during the period of hiring (minimum period 1 hr), be responsible for the supervision of the premises, the fabric and the contents, their care, safety from damage however slight or change of any sort and the behaviour of all persons  using the premises whatever their capacity, including proper supervision of car parking arrangements so as to avoid obstruction of the highway.

4. THE HIRER shall not use the premises for any purpose other than that described in the Hiring Agreement and shall not sub hire or use the premises or allow the premises to be used for any unlawful purpose or in any unlawful way nor do anything to bring into the premises anything that may endanger the same or render invalid any insurance policies in respect thereof.

S. THE HIRER shall be responsible for obtaining such licences as may be needed whether for the sale or supply of intoxicating liquor, from The Performing Right Society, from the Photographic Performance Ltd. or otherwise and for the observance of the same.

6. THE HIRER shall ensure that nothing is done on or in relation to the premises in contravention of the Law relating to gaming, betting and lotteries.

7 THE HIRER shall comply with all conditions and regulations made in respect of the premises by the Fire Authority, the Local Magistrates Court or otherwise, particularly in connection with any event which includes public dancing or music or other similar entertainment or stage plays.

8. THE HIRER shall if preparing serving or selling food observe all relevant food health and hygiene legislation and regulations.

9 THE HIRER shall, at the time of booking, notify the Booking Clerk if they intend to bring into the premises and use any additional portable electrical equipment. The Hirer shall ensure that these have been tested and are safe and in good order and will be used in a safe manner.

10 THE HIRER shall indemnify the Committee for the cost of repair of any damage done to any part of the property including the contents of the building which may occur during the period of the hiring as a result of the hiring.

11. THE HIRER shall ensure that the level of noise is kept to a minimum an arrival, during and departure of the event.

12. THE HIRER shall ensure that no animals except dogs for the disabled are brought into the Hall

13. AT THE END of the hiring the HIRER shall be responsible for leaving the premises and surrounds in a clean and tidy condition, properly locked, secured and the keys returned to the booking clerk unless directed otherwise and any contents temporarily removed from their usual position properly replaced, otherwise the Committee shall be at liberty to make an additional charge.

14. IF THE HIRER wishes to cancel a booking before the Date of the event then 14 days notice must be given, in writing, to the Committee. If less than 14 days is given and the are unable make a replacement booking the Committee reserve the right to charge ALL or PART of the hiring fee.

15. THE COMMITTEE reserve the right to cancel this hiring in the event of the full amount of the hiring fee not being paid within the stipulated time or the Hall being required for use as a Polling Station for a Parliamentary or 10091 Government election or by-election, in which case the Hirer shall be entitled to a refund of any deposit paid.  

16. IN THE EVENT of the Hall or any part thereof being rendered unfit for the use for which it has been hired, the Committee shall not be liable to the Hirer for any resulting loss or damage whatsoever.
